I find this Summer Reading Bingo is a huge help with that group. Learning to Read: I find the pre-readers are the hardest group for summer reading because they really have to practice and it’s not always easy to get them to sit down to do that. If they sit with their books quietly for 10 minutes they can “check the box”. Little kids that can’t read yet: You can play summer reading Bingo even if you can’t read yet… it’s a great way to encourage them to sit with books for quiet time.
